Book and lyrics by Marilyn Forster with music by Michael Shirtz, the new musical SOPHIE’S LIGHT premiered August 24 & 25 to astonishing reviews and excitement. The musical celebrates the opening of the Sandusky State Theatre, ninety years ago on October 12, 1928. The “Million Dollar Theatre” was one of the first in the area to feature Vaudevillians and became the jewel of the bustling waterfront city. SOPHIE’S LIGHT weaves a seamless story of fact and fiction, as the drama behind the curtain is enough to make hearts connect, and ships collide when performers and townspeople are unsuspecting of the Ghost who leads the way.
