Influenced heavily by the music of Duke Ellington, Dave Brubeck, Leonard Bernstein, and classical and contemporary composers alike, Michael has developed works for choir, orchestra, and large works including the oratorio "In God’s Light," the cantata "The Solemn Blessings," and collections of suites and impressions for vocal and instrumental groups. Michael's passion for composing and arranging music has fused his interests of jazz and improvisation with his love of classical music styles and contemporary textures, giving the listener a “painting of sound.”
