Michael joins Tri-C

Michael Shirtz joins the Tri-C Creative Arts team in Cleveland as the newly appointed Program Manager where he will oversee operations in producing the Tri-C JazzFest and Tri-C Presents Series with Terri Pontremoli (pictured with Shirtz) and an incredible team of artists, musicians, managers, and producers.

The Tri-C JazzFest is an internationally known jazz festival in Cleveland that is a summer music festival that takes place in the theaters of Playhouse Square and outdoors on U.S. Bank Plaza. In addition to the main stages, the Tri-C JazzFest presents some of the hottest bands in the region on outside stages from 3 p.m. to midnight during the festival. Other festival activities include food and street boutiques, cooking demos, "Jazz Talk" tent, KidBop, and dancing until midnight under the GE Chandelier in downtown Cleveland. In addition, JazzFest is also an educational festival that connects students of all ages with local and international jazz artists through their education days. This year's JazzFest is June 22-24.

Tri-C Presents is considered a "movable feast," with presentations and performances at Playhouse Square, Cleveland Museum of Art, Lakewood Civic Auditorium, Oberlin College, the Music Box, and Cleveland's famous club, Nighttown. Offering a mix of classical music, featured jazz, and dance, Tri-C Presents also features the award-winning Tri-C theatre productions that are always a great introduction to the world of theater, from new works to Broadway shows.

"I am very excited to be working with Tri-C and joining this amazing team," said Shirtz. "The opportunity to work with such great people and presenting such amazing shows and opportunities to celebrate and enhance the arts for audiences of all ages is something I am very passionate about. I am excited to bring that passion to Tri-C."

Michael's offices are on the 3rd Floor of the Tommy LaPuma Center for the Arts in downtown Cleveland, which is home to Tri-C's Recording Studios, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Offices and Archives, Tri-C Presents, and Tri-C JazzFest. Tri-C Creative Arts is a professional, community, and academic division of Cuyahoga Community College (famously known as Tri-C) in Cleveland.
